mr. nick's notes
This week we kicked off our school year by allowing students to experience what summer camp at Sapna was like! We spent time making connections and getting to know one another. Students offered great ideas about what they want their school year to look like. One idea was starting a yearbook committee! All facilitators praised this idea as it is a great way for students to tap into their creativity while also working together as a team.
During this week we also began the mentor program for our teenage students (Branches). Facilitators brainstormed with the Branches students to develop offerings for them to share with our Seeds and Roots groups. It was a pleasure witnessing our Branches take on leadership roles and be role models for the younger students. One upcoming offering that I am super excited about is our “Young Athletes” offering. Mentors will now be conducting a weekly fitness course, that will consist of exercises followed by an obstacle course!
We had a great first week and we are looking forward to a wonderful year together!
Enjoy this photo journal of our week at Sapna!
