This year at Sapna, we have decided to join the OMers of the World! Meaning we have 3 teams in the local Odyssey of the Mind tournament this year competing in February. What is Odyssey of the Mind? Essentially, it is a creativity competition with the goal of teaching kids how to develop and use their own creativity to become problem-solvers.
Ever since volunteering with the tournament in 2009, Coach J and I have been working to instill a sense of curiosity and creativity in every kid (and person for that matter!) we meet. So this year, we decided to join the OMers of the World and create a team!
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to take 17 learners to the Construction Workshop at River City Science Academy. Kids learned to work with a variety of different tools and materials. this knowledge will help them when they start to construct their sets for their long term problem.
