DREAM TEAM

Our newest Sapna Storytellers podcast is out and it was definitely a group effort! Sapna students of all ages participated, adding their own creative voices to each crayon. This is a sequel to another podcast we did last year - The Day the Crayons Quit. After listening to that podcast again and reading the sequel a few weeks ago, kids had the opportunity to pick a new crayon and create a new character!

What made this production a little different and so exciting, was the chance to really hear the growth and development in our kids' reading and fluency over the past year. Take a moment to go back and listen to our podcast from a year ago and then listen to our newest one. Many of these same kids could not read last year and just mimicked/repeated what I read. This year, almost ALL the students read their own part. As I recorded each one, I was just beaming with pride.

We also got in another Readers Theater this week. Only this time, it became a Sapna Short! With the excitement of the Sapna Wars premiere still buzzing on Friday morning, many students were itching to make another film. So Vuk and I set to work to write the script for one of his favorite books - The Grouchy Ladybug. Vuk loves all things Eric Carle, so facilitating this recreation was something I have been wanting to do. Seeing the end product, after Matt's edits, was magical. A dream truly realized.
